Best Dating Places in America: Brooklyn Bridge Walk
Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge is one of those quintessential New York experiences that works incredibly well as a date. It is free, iconic, and gives you a sense of shared adventure. You start on the Brooklyn side, grab a slice of pizza or a coffee, and then make your way across. The pedestrian walkway is elevated above the traffic, so you get stunning views of the Manhattan skyline, the Statue of Liberty in the distance, and the East River below. The walk takes about 30 minutes if you go straight through, but you will want to stop for photos and to take in the view. I recommend doing it around sunset so you see the city transition from day to night. Once you reach the Manhattan side, you are in the Seaport District, which has plenty of spots for dinner or drinks. Alternatively, you can start in Manhattan and end in Brooklyn, where you can explore DUMBO with its cobblestone streets and famous view of the bridge from Washington Street. The bridge itself acts as a natural conversation starter. You can talk about the history, the architecture, or just how nervous you are about heights if that is a thing. It is active, memorable, and gives you a built-in sense of accomplishment.
