I started as a laborer on a construction site right out of high school. I worked my way up, learned the ropes, and went back to school for construction management. Now, I run projects worth millions of dollars. The construction industry is booming, and there’s a desperate need for skilled project managers. We’re building infrastructure, housing, and commercial spaces. It’s not just about hammers and nails anymore. It’s about logistics, budgeting, scheduling, and safety. The pay is excellent, and the job security is strong because we’re always going to need buildings and roads. You don’t necessarily need a four-year degree; experience and certifications can go a long way. It’s a fast-paced environment, but walking through a completed project you managed is a feeling of pride that’s hard to beat.
