Google makes Pixel phones. They have the best camera software. They get updates first. They have useful AI features like Call Screening. Reviewers love them. Customers ignore them.
Pixel market share is around 3 percent. Samsung has 20 percent. Apple has 50 percent. Why? Marketing. Google barely advertises Pixels. They rely on word of mouth. That does not work in phones. People buy what they see.
Also, Google kills products. Remember Pixel Slate? Pixel C? Pixelbook? Dead. People fear Google will kill Pixel phones too. That fear is rational. Google has no commitment to hardware.
For beginners, Pixel phones are a great deal if you want clean Android and fast updates. But know the risk. Google might abandon you. Or they might not. That uncertainty is why most people buy iPhones or Samsungs. Predictability matters.
