Human Resources: The Heart of the Company

An HR professional interviewing a candidate in a bright office
HR Careers
I fell into Human Resources by accident. I was an administrative assistant, and the HR manager asked if I wanted to help with recruitment. I found that I loved the people side of business. HR has evolved so much in the last decade. It’s no longer just about processing payroll and handling complaints. We’re strategic partners. With the rise of remote work, mental health awareness, and diversity initiatives, HR professionals are more critical than ever. I specialize in talent acquisition, but there are roles in employee relations, compensation and benefits, and HR information systems. If you’re a people person with a strong sense of ethics and a knack for problem-solving, it’s a great field. You get to help people find jobs, grow in their careers, and navigate workplace challenges. It can be emotionally draining, but it’s also incredibly rewarding to be a trusted advisor. The job market for HR is strong because every company, no matter the industry, needs HR.
