Palm Jumeirah: Living on an Artificial Wonder

Palm Jumeirah Dubai Guide
Dredged from the sea between 2001 and 2006, Palm Jumeirah is a shape visible from space — a palm tree made of sand and rock extending into the Gulf, ringed by a crescent breakwater. It is home to dozens of luxury hotels, thousands of residential apartments, and some of the best beach clubs in the city. The most recognizable landmark is Atlantis The Palm at the tip of the trunk, a pink resort that has become a symbol of Dubai's ambition. You do not need to be a guest to visit — the water park Aquaventure is open to day visitors, and the hotel has several restaurants worth a booking regardless of where you are staying. The Palm Monorail runs from the Gateway station at the base of the trunk all the way to Atlantis, offering elevated views over the fronds on either side. Take it one way and walk back along the beach on the other for a different perspective. Sunset views from the Nakheel Mall boardwalk are excellent. The Pointe, a dining and entertainment destination at the crescent, offers the best views of Atlantis with good food and a relaxed atmosphere.
