Refusing refreshment is considered impolite. Islam is central to daily and commercial life. Business meetings may pause for prayer. Business will not be conducted during Friday jumu'ah prayers. Contracts and legal documentation may reference Islamic finance principles in government and family business contexts. Patience is non-negotiable — timelines in Emirati business culture are fluid by Western standards, and pressing too hard for speed signals a lack of relationship investment. Come to the relationship with a long-term perspective and the commercial results, when they come, will be genuinely rewarding.
