Why Java Still Dominates Enterprise Development in 2024
I’ve been a full-stack developer for about a decade now, and if there’s one language I keep coming back to, it’s Java. It’s not the flashiest, and it’s certainly not the newest, but there’s a reason big banks, insurance companies, and massive retail platforms rely on it. Stability is the name of the game. When you’re dealing with millions of transactions per second, you can’t afford random crashes or memory leaks that plague some newer languages. Java’s mature ecosystem, especially with frameworks like Spring Boot, gives you a safety net that’s been tested for years. I remember my first corporate job; we had a monolithic Java app that handled payroll for 50,000 employees. It wasn’t fun to deploy, but damn, it never went down. That’s the kind of trust Java builds.
