Amazon Aurora: High-Performance MySQL and PostgreSQL

Aurora is a MySQL and PostgreSQL-compatible database built for the cloud. It offers better performance than standard RDS—up to 5x for MySQL and 3x for PostgreSQL. I migrated a MySQL database to Aurora and saw latency drop. It's more expensive, but the performance and availability features are worth it for production workloads. Storage automatically scales up to 128 TB, and it replicates data across three availability zones for durability. It's a great option when your application needs database horsepower.
