I Went to a Town Hall During Midterms. It Was Nothing Like TV.

Community town hall meeting with residents sitting on plastic chairs
Real town hall experience
You see screaming matches on cable news and think all political events are chaos. So I almost didn't go to my representative's town hall last October. But I went. And honestly? It was quiet. Boring, even. A few retirees asked about Medicare. A farmer complained about crop insurance. My congressman took notes and said 'I'll look into it' about fifteen times. No fireworks. No dramatic walkouts. Just regular people trying to get help. That's the real America's politics nobody films. It's slow, frustrating, and sometimes a guy in a flannel shirt talks for ten minutes about drainage ditches. But it's real. And I left feeling less angry and more informed.
