The Etiquette of Accepting an Answer on Stack Overflow

Stack Overflow Etiquette
There’s a little green checkmark next to answers on Stack Overflow. It’s a small thing, but it means a lot. When you ask a question and someone takes the time to give you a detailed answer, accepting it is a form of saying 'thank you, this solved my problem'. It also helps future visitors know what worked. I used to forget to do this. I’d get my answer and vanish. Now, I make it a habit. It’s a tiny act of gratitude that completes the loop. It encourages the people who help to keep helping. So, if you’ve ever asked a question and got a good answer, go back and accept it. It’s the right thing to do.
